Its amazing how someone who failed a review was capable of taking on her own classroom for two months. Or maybe they just needed a staff for the summer

I worked as a preschool teacher in a daycare and loved it. As time went on and children filtered in, the job became too stressful and as I knew in my heart I wanted to prepare my life for a better future. A colleague of mine at the time told me about another childcare company who had amazing reviews and paid very well. So I sent in a resume as soon as I could.
They called. I went for an interview and when a fulltime position came up. They hired me.
The probation period was 6 months. That’s fine… didn’t plan on anything exciting happening in life in 6 months.
A few weeks after starting the job I found out that my fiancé and I were expecting our first baby! Best news!
I decided to be open and upfront and inform them that I was pregnant around 5-6 weeks. I figured I just got the job and if they wanted to fire me they could just do it then. Months and months went by on my probation and no complaints were brought to my attention. Then 20 days before the end of my six month performance review I got called into the office to have an earlier than expected review. It seemed rather negative.. it utterly shocked me the things that “were brought to my attention”- supervisors words. They were matters of opinions-not facts. Then one section came about.. The usual.. how do you interact with colleagues to create a positive work environment.. Obviously I thought wow.. going to nail this one.. NOPE. “Colleagues have expressed their concerns that you are not fully invested in the company and are biding time until you leave.” … THAT IS WHAT THEY WROTE. if you didn’t want me to feel any sense of discrimination.. that is not the type of thing you write on my review.
They then extended my probationary period by 2 months expecting me to improve during that time. They said they would not have another written out review but would have a conversation with me. In the two month period .. I am expected to work ALONE in ratio with children. While being 7,8,9 months pregnant during that time. Its amazing how someone who failed a review was capable of taking on her own classroom for two months. Or maybe they just needed a staff for the summer! My guess.
Back is against a wall.
