I was pumping twice a day at work and they were constantly keeping track of how long it took me to pump and then would deduct that from my pay

I was working for a popular cosmetic store when I became pregnant. I was with the company for 5 years and was told that I wasn’t getting a promotion because “you may not want to come back after you’ve had the baby.” I never said that once. I had my child and it was a traumatic birth experience and I could only get 3 months off. HR fought me tooth and nail. The HR manager told me “you must call on the day you give birth and tell us if you’ve had a vaginal birth or a c section because you get an extra week for a c section.” Haha. They wanted me to call immediately after I gave birth to ensure I’d get benefits.
I ended up going back because I needed the money but the last straw was when they tried to dock my pay for breastfeeding. I was pumping twice a day at work and they were constantly keeping track of how long it took me to pump and then would deduct that from my pay. Awful company. Awful experience.
