I informed them I was pregnant as I felt it was the right thing to do but then they told me they were going in a ”different direction”

I interviewed multiple times at the League of Conservation Voters in DC after leaving the Senate. I had provided input on the new position for which they were hiring and had started putting them in contact with folks on the Hill. I was conflicted about telling them I was pregnant but I felt it was the right thing to do. I sent the female political director, an email telling her I was newly pregnant. Shortly after, I heard back via email (to spare me an awkward phone conversation she said) that they were going in a different direction. I felt like a rube for being honest, but they’re bad people. The environment needs better advocates than The League of Conservation Voters.
