Out of nowhere I was no longer considered “manager material”

I was an assistant manager at a technology parts store-turned-cell-phone-store.
I didn’t tell my district manager I was pregnant because I was being looked at for promotion. At 5 months, I still didn’t have much of a baby bump and I worked 17 days straight, no days off, and I was supposed to be getting promoted to store manager at the location I was helping with. My store manager mentioned it around my DM, and out of nowhere I was no longer considered “manager material”.
To make it even worse, 2 weeks into my maternity leave I was told that my position was “removed” from my store. I had just had a child, and now I was laid off?
At least they went bankrupt, I guess. That’s the closest I’ll get to getting even.
