if you do decide to continue trying will you let me know so I can start looking for someone to replace you

I was hired to be a Marketing/Sales person at a local bridal store, with the intention of grooming me to take a Manager role in the near future. I had also been trying to get pregnant for about 9 months by this point. Two months into the job, I was receiving excellent feedback from my boss, great reviews from my brides, and even sold $20,000 worth of gowns in one weekend! That following week I had a positive pregnancy test and was super excited the whole day, and told a co-worker why. The next day the test was negative, which I was bummed about, and apparently didn’t hide my mood too well at work (just wasn’t my normal chipper self) Shortly after this, I got the flu (ended up in the ER) and had to take off three days of work. When I got back, my boss pulled me into his office and asked if I was trying for a baby. Thrown back by this question I told him yes, he then began to tell me that he thought I should wait for another TEN years before seriously thinking about a family (I was 25 and married at this point). He also said that other coworkers were complaining about my bipolar moods, and that they “never knew who was going to come in that day, Happy me or Sad me” (MIND YOU THIS HAPPENED ONE TIME!!!) He ended with “ultimately this is your decision, but if you do decide to continue trying will you let me know so I can start looking for someone to replace you?” I just couldn’t believe that the possibility of me getting pregnant was enough to get rid of me! I handed in my notice the next day and now am pregnant with twins and at an excellent job that supports working parents. I also just saw another hiring ad on the bridal store’s website for my old position, the fourth in a year, and they wonder why they can’t keep anybody.
